Curator Notes

One of the five foundational Dalí works acquired together as a group. My eyes were particularly drawn to this piece due to its stunning depiction of Christ’s sacrifice. The size of this artwork, along with its beautiful frame, makes it the centerpiece of the museum’s Dali collection.

Acquisition Story

Purchased with four companion Dalí works from Michael Griswold on January 23, 2025. The group became a cornerstone of the BlazerQuest collection.

Park West Gallery; acquired from Michael Griswold by Bill of Sale dated January 23, 2025; subsequently recorded in Robert A. Blaser’s name by Park West.

Research Notes

The most recent appraisal date for this artwork is 08/07/2025. This is one of one-hundred-and-five illustrations from the “Biblia Sacra” by Salvador Dali published by Rizzoli Editions, Milan, Italy, 1969 and edited by Giuseppe Albaretto, from the collection of Roberto Mastella. This 19 inch by 13.75 inch lithograph is a 1964 edition, signed by Salvador Dali between 1976 and 1979. Park West Registration No. 100654.004
